MifosSave is an offline-first community-banking app that digitizes VSLA / ROSCA / SHG savings groups on the open-source Mifos X platform. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.

Data we process

• Account & identity — the name, phone/email, and login you provide at self-signup, stored as a Mifos X client record.
• Group & financial records — group membership, meeting attendance, savings contributions, loans, repayments, and share-out — recorded as Mifos X transactions with an audit trail.
• Device & sync data — an on-device offline queue of your actions and sync metadata, used to reconcile with the server when you reconnect.

How we use it

• To operate the group-banking lifecycle you and your group perform — attendance, savings, lending, and distribution.
• To keep an accurate, transparent financial ledger every member can see.
• To synchronize your offline actions to your group's Mifos X backend.

Where your data lives

Financial records are stored in your group's Mifos X instance (self-hosted by your organization or a partner). The app keeps a local, encrypted-at-rest copy for offline use. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Offline & sync

When offline, your data stays on your device until connectivity returns, then syncs to the server. You control when to sync from the Sync Status screen.

Your rights

• Access and review your own savings, loans, and group records at any time in the app.
• Request correction or deletion of your account through your group organizer or the instance operator.

Third parties

The app talks only to your configured Mifos X backend and, for beta distribution, to Firebase App Distribution / TestFlight for delivering builds to testers. No analytics or ad SDKs are bundled.
